Journal
How we write the journal.
What goes into a post before it's published, and what happens when it stops being true.
- Every claim has a source we opened
- Numbers, names, dates and quotes are checked against the page they come from before a post goes live, and we link that page in the text. We go to the primary source first: Google's own documentation, a company's live pages, the data itself.
- AI helps, and a person decides
- We use AI tools to research and draft. A person on our team chooses every topic and decides what is published. Since October 2026 every draft our scheduled jobs write waits for that person to read it before it goes live.
- Teardowns are our own reading
- When we analyse a company, we work from its public pages and say what we see. The companies we write about have no part in it, and we never imply a relationship that doesn't exist.
- Corrections are dated and stay visible
- When something we published stops being true, we add a dated note at the top of the post saying what changed and link to the newer piece. We don't quietly rewrite history.
